Gobi Desert Reverie

Yang Lui working with Jacob Maddison, the letterpress expert at the Book Arts Lab at the University of Victoria. They are printing text on silk scrolls for Yang’s artbook multiple called Gobi Desert Reverie. The project is based on a re-interpretation of his parents’ fragmented memory of their time spent in the Gobi Desert in the 1980s  as Chinese engineering soldiers working on the earliest Qinghai-Tibet railway project.
