MUSINGS

Allen Bell

A book composed of two short poems and one long poem. The inside and outside cover feature images of Bell’s handwritten draft of Musings.

To quote the scholar J. H. Alexander (to whom Bell dedicated Small Poems and Small Poems [Plus]) … “impressive…. Having the long Musings together with the Beethoven and Bach pieces … in the large format places them in a new light. It suggests that while Musings may not be what you wanted to write it was what you had to write.”

Allen Bell is the author of The Simon Poems, A Motley To The View, Thy Harry’s Company, A Hated Political Enemy, Puppet Poems, Ma Vie Va S’Achever, Canada, and most recently Small Poems, Small Poems [Plus] and Musings.  Allen Bell is also a screenplay writer and has collaborated on the screenplays of Family Viewing, Speaking Parts, The Adjuster, and The Sweet Hereafter (the latter screenplay was nominated for an academy award).
